Frederick William Cordray, 63, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly, Friday (November 27, 2015) at his home.

The son of William Warren and Reta Elizabeth (Lidd) Cordray, he was born May 29, 1952 in Parkersburg, West Virginia. On February 6, 1982 in Mt. Vernon, Ohio, Frederick was united in marriage to Cindy Neighbarger.

Fred is survived by his wife Cindy of thirty-three years; two sons, Jeremy Cordray and fiancée Keri of Kirksville, MO, and Andrew Cordray and wife Barbie of Greentop, MO; one brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Rebecca Cordray of Navada, IA; one sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Jim Wahlstrom of Farmington, ME; four grandchildren, Peyton, Michael, Makayla, and Ruby Cordray, and one sister-in-law, Laraine Neighbarger of Utica, OH.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Ashton Cordray.

After receiving a high school diploma in Charles City, Iowa, Fred received his degree at Iowa State University and later a Masters degree at William Woods University. He served his country in the United States Army from 1971 to 1975. Fred was a plant service manager twenty-seven years for Hollister, Inc. until retiring in 2010.

Fred was involved in Cub Scouts , Boy Scouts , enjoyed wood working, and loved flying planes.

He was a member of several pilot groups and a member of First United Methodist Church of Kirksville.

Public visitation will be held Tuesday, (December 1, 2015) with family receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, (December 2, 2015) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home, with Pastor Richard Northcutt officiating. Interment will follow the service at Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville.

Pallbearers will be Gurden Tague, Gale Stock, Brad Johnson, Steve Peeler, Ronnie Brown and Jim Morgan. Honorary pallbearers are all of his flying friends.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Fred Cordray may be made to the First United Methodist Church. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
