Mable Geneve (Scofield) Waddill, 100, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Friday, November 13, 2015 at Twin Pines Adult Care Center in Kirksville.

The daughter of Irvin and Emma (Leister) Scofield, she was born March 21, 1915 in South Dakota. Mable was united in marriage to Chester Waddill on January 26, 1935, who preceded her in death on May 22, 2002. They were married 67 years.

Mable was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Floyd and Harold Scofield, one sister, Frieda Scofield, a half-brother, Carl Scofield and half-sister, Naomi Scofield Sullivan, two step-brothers, Robert and Royce "Punch" Lowe and a sister-in-law, Lillian Scofield.

She is survived by a sister-in-law, Crystal Scofield, and a great number of nieces and nephews and their families.

Mable worked side-by-side with Chester in managing a crop farm and raising cattle, and she supported him in his Allis Chalmers farm implement distributorship.

Mable loved flowers and was an avid gardener. Her yard always had beautiful flowers, and she canned and froze vegetables every summer from her vegetable garden. She had a particular love for tomatoes. Mable was an excellent cook and loved sewing. She also had a love for animals, especially dogs. She and Chester always had a dachshund as an inside dog, along with a farm dog and numerous barn cats. She and Chester loved to travel; one of their favorite trips was to Hawaii.

Mable was a life-long member of First United Methodist Church, where she was active in United Methodist Women. She helped during summers at the Adair County Fair, donating time to a restaurant that raised money for the church. She supported the El Kadir Shrine Club (Kirksville), of which her husband Chester was a member, and she was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Richard Northcutt officiating. Interment will follow the service at Park View Memorial Gardens in Kirksville.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 17, 2015, for one hour prior to service time in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home.
