Roger Miller Talbert

Roger Miller Talbert, 61, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away peacefully Thursday (October 29, 2015) at his home under Hospice care and surrounded by his family after suffering from COPD and emphysema.

The son of Blake Eugene and Carrie Verdene (Miller) Talbert, he was born January 28, 1954 in Kirksville, Missouri. On October 17, 1974 in Brashear, Missouri, Roger was united in marriage to Janice "Jan" Beerbower.

Roger is survived by his wife, Jan; one son and daughter-in-law, Dru and Marlene Talbert of Kirksville, MO; one daughter and son-in-law, Kendra and Daniel Blaine of Greentop, MO; mother-in-law, Barbara Beerbower of Kirksville, MO; brother-in-law, Don Hudson of Kirksville, MO; sister-in-law, Joy Garr of Kirksville, MO; four grandchildren, Warren, Avril, and Vaden Blaine and Clark Talbert; one niece, Melissa Hudson of Kirksville, MO, and one nephew, Matt Hudson of Kirksville, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Karen Sue Hudson, and his special friend Kim Featherston.

Roger was a graduate from Queen City High School with the Class of 1972. He was employed at Hollister, Inc., City of Kirksville, was employed for the Schuyler County Road District and worked in construction for several years before opening his own construction business.

Roger loved and coached Little League baseball and was known for his pitching arm. He enjoyed the great outdoors(especially hunting and fishing), and was good at working with his hands, but most of all Roger enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren.

It was Roger's wish to be cremated and his family will receive friends during a public visitation on Sunday (November 1, 2015) from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

Private family scattering of Roger's ashes will take place at a later date.
