E. Rosetta “Rose” (Carman) McKim, 75, of Kirksville, Missouri, departed this life on Saturday (January 24, 2015) at her home after a lengthy illness.

The daughter of John Thomas and Lady Mable (Hopkins) Carman, she was born June 25, 1939 in Hartford, Missouri. On November 17, 1955 in Kirksville, Missouri, Rose was united in marriage to Ronald McKim.

Rose is survived by her husband Ronald of fifty-nine years; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steven and Lorrie McKim and Tom and Davena McKim; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Ronna and Raymond Magruder, Joni and Tad Wilson and Janie Hurley; four brothers, Charles, Tom, James and Keith Carman; four sisters, Lela Bates, Kathy Thompson, Joan Nordstrom and Ann Shore; fifteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Joy Reesman; six brothers, John, Bill, Clifford, Franklin, David and Paul Carman and one sister, Janet Andrew.

Rose received her education from the Putnam County School. She worked for Lambert Manufacturing and was a manager for Casey’s General Store before starting a home day care.

Rose enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren; and growing tomatoes, doing yard work and working crossword puzzles.

Public visitation will be held Wednesday (January 28, 2015) from noon to 2:00 p.m. at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

Funeral services will follow visitation on Wednesday (January 28, 2015) at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home, with Raymond Magruder officiating and Pastor Sheila Swafford assisting. Interment will follow at Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville.

Pallbearers will be Casey McKim, Matt Magruder, Josh Wilson, Colton Hurley, Mike Carman and Mike McFarland.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Northeast Missouri. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
