Berniece (Whitlock) Wood, 85, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Monday (January 19, 2015) at Kirksville Manor Care Center.

The daughter of Charles Thomas and Hazel Margaret (Figge) Whitlock, she was born November 23, 1929 in Kirksville, Missouri. On December 11, 1954 in Kirksville, Missouri, Berniece was united in marriage to Ora Lee Wood who preceded her in death on November 9, 1987.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Anna Lee Berends, and four brothers, Robert, Leroy, Fred, and I.V. Whitlock.

Berniece is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Terry Joe and Nancy Wood of Kirksville, MO; one daughter and son-in-law, Debra Ann and Daryl “Randy” Watson of Kirksville, MO; her sister-in-law, Maxine Wood of Kirksville, MO; four grandchildren, Christy Scadden and husband Sheldon, Kim Wood, Rachel Fowler and Brandson Watson, as well as six great-grandchildren, Rylee, Wyatt, and Kyler Scadden, Dayson Wood, and Trevor and Phoenix Watson.

Berniece received her education in the Kirksville public schools. She was a homemaker and enjoyed dancing, fishing and cooking. Berniece had a great love for her family and will be missed.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday (January 24, 2015) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Charles Jackson officiating. Interment will follow the service at Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville.

Family will receive friends on Saturday (January 24, 2015) for one hour before the service at 2:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Steve Valentine, Tim Watson, Nate Schoonover, Sheldon Scadden, Ted Kellison and Randy Stewart.
