Harold Ray Christman, 97, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Monday (September 8, 2014) at Kirksville Manor Care Center.

The son of Earl and Myrtle (Conkle) Christman, he was born September 1, 1917 in Brashear, Missouri. On June 5, 1937 in Kirksville, Missouri, Harold was united in marriage to Ada Mae Ditmars who preceded him in death on May 18, 1996. In 1997, Harold married Doreen Sheperd who survives.

Harold is also survived by one daughter, Janie Potter of Green City, MO; twelve grandchildren, Robert Spain, James Walters, Carmon Potter, Renee Potter, Kathy Neighbors, David Potter, Janet Bagby, Teresa Speiser, Debbie Couch, Amanda Christman, Lynette McMillin and Terry Christman; thirty-five great-grandchildren; twenty-five great great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Rosalie Schreiner and Loree Loveland; one son, Eugene Christman; two brothers, Ralph and Cecil Christman; two sisters, Beulah Kelsey and Neva Campbell; one half brother, Frank McIntyre, and two grandchildren, Ray Aldridge and Dalene Spain.

Harold was a life long resident of Adair County and was a long time carpenter, brick layer, and farmer. He enjoyed trapping, wood working, painting pictures and antiquing.

He was a member of the Church of God-Holiness in Kirksville.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday (September 11, 2014) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Bill Hayton officiating. Interment will follow the service at Myers Cemetery near Queen City, Missouri.

Family will receive friends on Thursday (September 11, 2014) for one hour before service time in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Robert Spain, James Walters, Jesse Meininger, Thaxis Neighbors, Robert Christman and Todd Christman.
