Almeda A. (Talbert) March, 84, of Greentop, Missouri, (Willmathsville) passed away Friday (July 25, 2014) at her home.

She was born May 27, 1930 in Adair County to Bertie and Henrietta (Cecil) Talbert. Shortly after her birth her birth mother passed away. She and her brother, Clyde, was raised by Lawrence and Nellie (Morton) Talbert and to her, they were her parents.

Almeda went to Pleasant Grove country school and graduated from Greentop High School. She received her teaching certificate from Northeast Missouri State Teachers College and taught in some of the area country schools.

On November 27, 1952 she married Bill March, the love of her life. They’ve been married over sixty-one years. They are the parents of two daughters, Pat (March) Shoush and Louise (March) Reed.

After her family was raised, Almeda worked at Baldwin’s Biz-Mart for nine years and the Business Center until it closed. She then worked for Back to Nature Health Food Store until her retirement.

Almeda was a member of the Hazel Creek Primitive Baptist Church, and rededicated her faith in God along with her family in 1972. She was also a member of the Greentop Order of Easter Star.

She enjoyed riding motorcycles and flying in the airplane with Bill.

Almeda is survived by her husband, Bill; two daughters, Pat Shoush and Louise (David) Reed, all of Kirksville, MO; five grandchildren, Heather, Nicole, Matt, Tara and Michael, as well as seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, David Shoush, brother, Clyde Talbert, and ten other brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews.

Public visitation is in progress and family will receive friends this evening, Monday (July 28, 2014) from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday (July 29, 2014) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Dan Todd officiating. Interment will follow the service at Willmathsville Cemetery in Willmathsville, MO.

Pallbearers will be Jim March, Mark March, Tyson March, Bryan March, Cory March and David Reed. Phillip March will be an honorary pallbearer.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Almeda March may be made to Willmathsville Cemetery Perpetual Care or to the Fugate Cemetery. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
