Stephen Edward Hill, 58, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Friday (May 23, 2014) at his home.

The son of H. Roger and Anna Catherine "Sue" Hill, he was born December 7, 1955 in Kirksville, Missouri. On October 16, 1982, he was united in marriage to Deborah Lynn O’Reilly.

Stephen is survived by his wife Deborah of the home; mother, Samantha Hill of Kirksville, MO; two sons, Matthew Hill and wife Hannah of Fort Lewis, WA and Mark Hill of Kirksville, MO; one daughter, Megan Sova and husband Jared of Olathe, KS; three grandchildren, Luke, Titus and Naomi Hill; two brothers, Michael Hill and wife Sheila of Blue Springs, MO and Wes Andrews and wife Julie of Blue Springs, MO; two sisters, Dr. Melanie Grgurich and husband Edward of Novinger, MO and Susan DeHamer and husband Don of Litchfield, AZ; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Stephen was a 1974 graduate of Kirksville High School and then continued his education at Northeast Missouri State University and received a degree in Industrial Education in 1981.

Stephen worked several different jobs throughout his lifetime. As a young boy, he worked on his parents' farm near Winigan, Missouri, raising cattle and turkeys. Stephen continued raising cattle at his farm southwest of Kirksville until 2000, when he and his family moved into Kirksville. From 1990 to 2014, Stephen worked for the Kirksville Post Office, delivering mail and packages to residents in and around Kirksville.

He enjoyed spending time with his family as well as working on construction and farming projects. Stephen will most notably be remembered for his quiet demeanor, cheerful attitude, and servant heart.

A memorial service to honor his life will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday (May 28, 2014) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Gene Austin presiding. Interment will take place at a later date at Maple Hills Cemetery in Kirksville.

No public visitation will be held.
