John Eldon Bausell, 91, went home to be with the Lord (February 4, 2014) at Kirksville Manor Care Center.

He was born January 7, 1923, the son of John Therman and Eva (Spray) Bausell. He was united in marriage to Juanita Maxine Clifton on August 8, 1942. She preceded him in death on November 12, 1986. On May 19, 1989, he was united in marriage to Irene Louise Fickel. She preceded him in death on April 2, 1994. On January 1, 1996, he was united in marriage to Marjorie Hyde, who survives him.

Also preceding him in death were his parents, three sisters, and two brothers.

John is survived by one daughter, Linda Lou Jackson and husband Wayne; one step-son, Everett Frady and wife Beverly; four step-grandchildren, Kelly Knipp and husband Jason, Amos Frady and wife, April, Mandy and husband, B.J. Magistro, and Danielle Riekeberg; also eight step great-grandchildren; niece and nephew and many friends.

John received his education in Sullivan County, Missouri. He had made his home in Kirksville, Missouri, since 1942. He was employed with McGraw Edison for several years. John also was in house rental business for a number of years. He served in the U.S. Army in the European Theater in Belgium, France, and Germany with the 3rd Armored Tank Division during World War II.

He was faithful to visit the residents of the nursing homes and shut-ins. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and biking.

John was a faithful, long time member of the Church of God (Holiness).

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday (February 8, 2014) at the Church of God (Holiness) in Kirksville, with Pastor Bill Hayton and Pastor Ralph Wheeler officiating. Interment with military honors will follow the service at Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville.

Public visitation will be held Friday (February 7, 2014) from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Dodsworth, Jack Beeler, Bud Niccum, Roger Speak, Raymond Buchanan and Bill Harker. Honorary pallbearers will be Kelly Groseclose, Adrain Coffman, Donald Baker and Don Pope.
