Alan Dale Durham, 53, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Wednesday (February 26, 2014) at the University Missouri Medical Center in Columbia, Missouri.

The son of William Virgel and Carolyn Kay (Drennan) Durham, he was born March 14, 1960 in Kirksville, Missouri. On September 23, 1995 in Kirksville, Missouri, Alan was united in marriage to Brenda Munn.

Alan is survived by his wife Brenda of the home; his mother Carolyn Durham of Kirksville, MO; his father-in-law, David Munn of Novinger, MO; four sons and two daughters-in-law, John Durham of Nixa, MO, Adam and Heather Durham of Georgia, Matthew Durham of Illinois and J.R. and Alanna Findling of Kirksville, MO; one daughter, Kalee Ann Durham of Kirksville, MO; one brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Jackie Durham of Kirksville, MO; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Rhonda and Gary Williams of Kirksville, MO, Becky and Pete Davis of Kirksville, MO, and Janie and Billy Wernert of Novinger, MO; two brothers-in-law, Terry Munn and wife Mary, and Randall Munn and wife Debbie all of Kirksville, MO; three sisters-in-law, Becky Snyder and husband Chris of Kirksville, MO, Debbie Gregory and husband Bill of LaPlata, MO, and Sharon Munn of Novinger, MO, as well as four grandchildren, Abigail and Zachariah Findling and Willow and Madeline Durham.

He was preceded in death by his father and one daughter, Rachel Findling.

Alan was a graduate from Kirksville High School with the Class of 1979. He was employed as warehouse manager for Macon Coca Cola Bottling Company in Macon until his health failed.

Alan loved the outdoors, ertle toys and his dog. He always had a smile on his face and loved to torment people including all 27 blondes. He was always in a shop, whether it was his own or someone else’s.

Alan loved being with his brothers and sisters and was an avid Cardinal Baseball fan.

Alan came to know the truth in 2008 and dedicated his life and was baptized in 2011. He loved Jehovah and his Christian ministry.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday (March 1, 2014) at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Kirksville, with Elder John Brinkman presiding. Interment will follow the service at Prough Cemetery in rural Kirksville, Missouri.

Family will receive friends on Saturday (March 1, 2014) at the Kingdom Hall from noon until service time.

Pallbeaerers will be Billy Durham, Jesse Bartlett, Evan Foreman, Richard Tournier, Mike Longano, Randall Munn, Chris Snyder, Jerry James and Joe Story.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alan Durham Memorial Fund. Memorials may be left at the Kingdom Hall or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.

I'm glad to have gotten to know Alan, although somewhat peripherally. Praying for his family as they mourn. May he rest in peace.
