Raymond Earl Phelps, 52, of Greentop, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday (December 16, 2014) at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

The son of Keith Raymond and Vaunda Mae (Pipes) Phelps, he was born July 28, 1962 in Kirksville, Missouri. On June 11, 1981 in Kirksville, Missouri, Raymond was united in marriage to Alice Steele.

Raymond is survived by his wife Alice of thirty-three years; his mother, Vaunda of Greentop, MO; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Carl and Sarah Phelps, Kevin Phelps and Jakob and Maranda Phelps all of Greentop, MO; one brother, Scott Phelps of Queen City, MO; one sister and brother-in-law, Tamala and Von Dole of Queen City, MO; two grandchildren, Carl Jr. and Caitlin Phelps, as well as two nephews and one great nephew.

He was preceded in death by his father, Keith; one sister, Debra Arnold; one nephew, Jamie Arnold and his grandparents, Keith Raymond and Corrine Phelps and Earl and Hazel Pipes; and one uncle Orville Pipes.

Raymond was a graduate from Kirksville High School. He served in the National Guard. Raymond was employed twenty-six years for Hirschbach Trucking Company and for the past seven years was employed for Kirksville Lumber Co.

Raymond loved farming, driving trucks and hunting. He loved his family and enjoyed raising his three boys.

Public visitation will be held from noon to 2:00 p.m. Saturday (December 20, 2014) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

Graveside services will follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m. at Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Raymond Phelps Memorial Fund. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.

Vaunda, I used to run around with Raymond when I lived in Kirksville and have known Alice, Tammy and Von all my life. I'm so sorry to hear of Raymond's passing. I have lots of good memories with him. RIP Raymond. God Bless. He will by greatly missed.
