Jewell Vivian (Dunkle) Filkins, 91, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Saturday (November 15, 2014) at Kirksville Manor Care Center in Kirksville.

The daughter of James and Anna (Treman) Dunkle, she was born January 15, 1923 in Brookfield, Missouri. On November 30, 1940, Jewell was united in marriage to Herman Owen Filkins who preceded her in death.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Terry Filkins on February 4, 2014; one grandson, Brian Filkins, and two brothers, Junior and Robert Dunkle.

Jewell is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Barb Filkins of Marshall, MO; one sister, Dorothy Bogle of Driakesville, IA; two grandchildren, Travis Roberts and wife Judy of Lancaster, MO and Jill, as well as three great grandchildren.

Public visitation will be held Tuesday (November 18, 2014) from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

Cremation will follow visitation and no service will be held.
