Brenda Kay (Leeper) Billings

Brenda Kay Billings, 53, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Wednesday (July 10, 2013) at her home.

The daughter of Lawrence and Donna (Weist) Leeper, she was born February 17, 1960 in Oakland, California. On September 30, 1978, Brenda was united in marriage to Everett Taylor and to this union three children were born.

Brenda is survived by two sons, Everett “Eugene” (Sandra) Taylor of Riverside, CA and Junius (Joni) Taylor of Kirksville, MO; one daughter, Julie Taylor of Kirksville, MO; one brother, Mike Leeper of Kirksville, MO, and three grandchildren, Kalia Orhieula, Emmitt Taylor and Raelyn Moots.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Brenda was a graduate from Linn County RI High School in Purdin, MO and attended North Central Missouri College in Trenton, MO, where she received her LPN degree. She then worked a number of years at Leewood Manor in Milan, MO. For the next twelve years, Brenda was the school nurse at Milan C-2. Brenda was last employed nine years at Pershing Memorial Hospital in Brookfield, MO.

In her early years, Brenda was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader. She also taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible school at the Milan First Baptist Church. At the time of her death, she was a member at Meadow Brook Christian Church in Kirksville.

Brenda was a devoted mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She also considered her two daughters-in-law like her own.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday (July 13, 2013) at Forrest Lewellyn Cemetery in Kirksville, with Reverend Richard Lawrence officiating.

Family will receive friends on Saturday (July 13, 2013) for one hour before the graveside service in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home.
