Leticia Ann (Mathes) Veach, 73, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Friday (June 14, 2013) at Kirksville Manor Care Center.

The daughter of Rollie and Thelma (Grissom) Mathes, she was born April 23, 1940 in Kirksville, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Herbert H. Payne Sr. and to this union two children were born.

Leticia is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Lisa Payne of Kirksville, MO; one sister, Mary Greenstreet of Lancaster, MO; three grandchildren, Madison, Morgan and Abigail Payne; one niece, Lisa Morre of Lancaster, MO; one nephew, Todd Greenstreet and wife Kathy of Downing, MO, as well as several great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Stephen and one in infancy.

Leticia received her education in the Kirksville public schools. She worked several years at Lambert’s Glove Mfg. She was employed a total of thirty years for Wal-Mart in Waxahchie, Texas and Kirksville, Missouri. Leticia was last employed seven years for the Kirksville R-III school district in the cafeteria.

Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday (June 18, 2013) at Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville, with Pastor Charles Jackson presiding.

No public visitation will be held.
