Judith L. Rae, 65, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Friday (April 12, 2013) at Boone Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

The daughter of Kenneth Laverne and Moretha Faye (Hunsaker) Whittom, she was born December 26, 1947 in Kirksville, Missouri. On June 11, 1965 in Kirksville, Missouri, Judi was united in marriage to James Rae.

Judi is survived by her husband James; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Shain and Emily Rae of Sunny Isles, FL; Tyson and Jamie Rae of Kansas City, MO and Sagan Rae of Kirksville, MO; two grandsons, Adain and Brody Rae, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Shawna and her sister Evonne Vande.

Judi was a graduate from Kirksville High School with the Class of 1965. She was a beautician most of her life and was last employed at Spanish Curl.

While her three sons were growing up, Judi loved following their baseball games and wrestling meets. She also enjoyed fishing with James and loved their yearly trips to Branson. Most of all, Judi loved her two grandson’s, Adain and Brody and couldn’t wait to see them all the time.

Judi was a quilt maker and enjoyed the friends that were in her quilt club, always looking forward to their meetings.

Judi was a member of the Church of Christ of Kirksville.

It was Judi’s wish to be cremated and a memorial service to celebrate her life will take place Saturday (April 20, 2013) at the Church of Christ in Kirksville, with Pastor Dan Todd presiding.

Public visitation will be held Saturday (April 20, 2013) from noon to 2:00 p.m. at the Church of Christ in Kirksville.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Judi Rae may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Memorials may be left at Church of Christ or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
