Charles Thaddeus Sweet, 78, of Brashear, Missouri, passed away Wednesday (April 10, 2013) at the LaBelle Manor Care Center in LaBelle, Missouri.

The son of Theodore and Ruby Leona (Peterson) Sweet, he was born November 29, 1934 in Kirksville, Missouri.

Charles received his education in the Willmathsville rural school and finished his education in Greentop, Misouri. He enjoyed flying airplanes, traveling, especially to Alaska, raising bottle fed calves and reminiscing through the countryside.

He was a member of the Kirksville Moose Lodge #1751.

He is survived by one son, Christopher Sweet of Kirksville, MO; one daughter, Christyl Harrelson and husband Daniel of Brashear, MO, one daughter-in-law, Patti Cole of Cedar Rapids, IA; one brother, Junior Sweet and wife, Charlotte of Kirksville, MO; two sisters, Ivalee Hartsock of Kirksville, MO and Roene Ditmars of Sperry, MO; ten grandchildren: Danielle, Casey and Michaela Cole; Logan and Caleb Sweet; and Daniel, Nicholas, Alissa, Elijah and Jacob Harrelson, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Leona Sweet; one step-son, David Cole; one nephew, Harold Sweet, and two brothers-in-law, Robert Hartsock and N.L. Ditmars.

Public visitation will be held Tuesday (April 16, 2013) from 12:30 to 1:30 in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

Graveside services will follow visitation on Tuesday (April 16, 2013) at 2:00 p.m. at the Willmathsville Cemetery in Willmathsville, Missouri, with Pastor Daniel R. Harrelson presiding.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Hartsock, Skip Sparks, Raymond Sweet, Daniel Harrelson, Nick Harrelson and Rick Harrelson. Casey Cole will be an honorary pallbearer.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Charles Sweet may be made to the LaBelle Manor Care Center in care of the Alzheimer’s Unit. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
