Levena Irene (Turner) Gregory, 88, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Wednesday (February 13, 2013) at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

Born October 3, 1924 in Kirksville, Levena was the daughter of Roy Lester and Myrtle Olive (Darnell) Turner. On January 31, 1948 in Edina, Missouri, Levena was united in marriage to Alden Glen Gregory, who passed away January 20, 1987.

Levena was also preceded in death by her parents and five brothers: Charles, Tommy, Donnie, Chester, and Leroy Turner.

She is survived by three brothers: Earl Turner and wife, Phyllis of Queen City, Missouri, Roy Turner and wife Carolyn Turner of Kirksville, and Clifford Turner and wife, Donneta of Kirksville; three sisters: Lorena Darnel of Kirksville, Betty Beerbower and husband, Don of Novinger, Missouri, and Kathryn Vincent and husband, Pearley of Queen City, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Odilia Turner of Kirksville, Missouri; longtime friend, Mattie Horton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Levena attended Kirksville High School and lived her entire life in the Kirksville community. After high school, she worked at International Shoe Company for forty-five years. Levena was a member of the First Church of God in Kirksville. She enjoyed cooking, collecting recipe books, listening to music and spending time with family.

Public visitation will be held Monday (February 18, 2013) from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday (February 18, 2012) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home, with Pastor David Strong presiding. Interment will follow the service at Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville.

Pallbearers will be Steven Turner, Roger Turner, Eddie Turner, Harold Turner, Ronnie Hamilton, Rick Vincent and Jim Darnel. Honorary Pallbearer will be Keith Turner, Michael Turner, Joe Vincent and Randy Hamilton.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Levena Gregory may be made to the First Church of God. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO, 63501.
