Carol Ann (Clavier) Thompson, 74, of Greentop, Missouri, passed away Tuesday (December 10, 2013) at her home.

The daughter of Walter Lee and Olive Lorena (Carver) Clavier, she was born September 18, 1939 in Clinton, Illinois. On August 13, 1961 in Tullahoma, TN, Carol was united in marriage to Orvel Thompson.

Carol is survived by her husband, Orvel of fifty-two years; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Cynthia Thompson of Lancaster, MO and Jason and Heather Thompson of Greentop, MO; two daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Murry McCoy of Unionville, MO and Julia and Joe Burke of Cedar Lake, IN; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Darroll and Sue Clavier of San Pierre, IN and Charles Clavier of Nichols, GA; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Betty and Bob Yahl of Kirksville, MO and Vera Orich of Gary, IN; five grandchildren; six step grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Eunice Marie and Nancy Lamb.

Carol was a graduate from Kahler High School in Dyer, Indiana. She was employed as a ward clerk for St. Anthony Medical Center in Dyer until retiring in 1997. In 1999, she and Orvel moved to Greentop, Missouri, to make their home. She enjoyed sewing and her flowers.

Carol was a member of the Red Hats and of the Bethel Community Church of Sperry.

Public visitation will be held Friday (December 13, 2013) from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. Saturday (December 14, 2013) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Marvin Cross officiating.

It was Carol’s wish to be cremated following her funeral service and she will be interred at a later date.
