Anna Mae (Barnes) Gashwiler, 82, of Novinger, Missouri, passed away Thursday (October 31, 2013) at Twin Pines Adult Care Center in Kirksville.

The daughter of Earl Newton and Hannah Eldred (West) Barnes, she was born August 13, 1931 in Queen City, Missouri. On February 3, 1952 in Kirksville, Missouri, Anna was united in marriage to Francis Gashwiler.

Anna is survived by her husband Francis of sixty-one years; two sons, Jay Gashwiler of Kirksville, MO and Bill Gashwiler of Green City, MO; one sister, Bonnie Partin of Nehawka, NE; three sisters-in-law, Pat Barnes of Katy, TX, Patty Barnes of Kirksville, MO and Harriett Barnes of Mooncraft, WY; seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Beth Nichols and three brothers, Kenneth, Jim and Earl Jr.

Anna was raised in Queen City, Missouri, where she graduated from Queen City High School. She had lived the past sixty years in the Novinger area.

She was a member of the Novinger Baptist Church and Ladies Auxiliary at the Novinger Fire Department. Anna enjoyed the sport of basketball.

Public visitation will be held Sunday (November 3, 2013) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday (November 4, 2013) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Darrell Crooks officiating. Interment will follow the service at Novinger Cemetery in Novinger.

Pallbearers will be Adam Gashwiler, Cody Gashwiler, Robert Gashwiler Jr., Dennis Wilson, Jason Humphrey and Jeard Humphrey. Honorary pallbearers will be Nathan Pickett, Blake Gashwiler, Trey Gashwiler, Seth Gashwiler, Jordon Miller and Allen Gashwiler.
