Richard Duane “Pinky” Pinkerton, 68, of LaPlata, Missouri, passed away Tuesday (October 29, 2013) at his home under Hospice care.

The son of Elmer E. and Mildred (Wright) Pinkerton, he was born November 24, 1944 in Kirksville, Missouri. Pinky was united in marriage to the love of his life, Helen L. Reeves in September of 1992.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; his parents; grandparents; two sisters, Judy Ann and Phyllis Lorraine; and two step-children, Angel and Patrick.

Pinky is survived by one brother, Robert L. Pinkerton; seven step children: Marty, Michelle, Jerry, Ronnie, Richard, Mary Jo, and Jr.; one uncle, Marion Wright; several grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Pinky received his education from Kirksville High School, graduating with the Class of 1963. He was employed by McGraw Edison, Fergusons, and last for Spilman’s until his retirement in 2001.

He was loved by many, and was known for his amazing smile, good attitude and deep love for Helen. He also enjoyed fishing and his coffee.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday (November 1, 2013) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, Missouri, with family receiving friends from noon to 2:00 p.m. service time.

Interment will follow the service at Sloan’s Point Cemetery, south of Novinger, Missouri.
