Ben William Holliday, 79, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Wednesday (October 23, 2013) at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

The son of Charlie Ellsworth and Starr Alice (Salyer) Holliday, he was born September 18, 1934 in Unionville, Missouri. On June 29, 1968, Ben was united in marriage to Eva Marie Shelton who preceded him in death on October 20, 1995.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Cheryl Price; two sisters; one brother and one grandson, Richard Scott.

Ben is survived by two sons, Bobby Greenstreet of LaPlata, MO and Ricky Greenstreet of Kirksville, MO; two daughters, Tabitha Marie Nolte of Greentop, MO and Wanda Garrett of LaPlata, MO; four brothers, William Holliday of Unionville, MO, Junior Holliday of Pollock, MO, Benton “Hop” Holliday of Unionville, MO and Jimmy Holliday of Unionville, MO; ten grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Ben was a graduate from Unionville High School. He moved to Glenwood, Missouri and worked at a Foundry in Centerville, Iowa. Ben then moved to Kirksville, Missouri and was employed as an industrial engineer at the Kewanee Plant until its closing. He later worked at Too Tall’s Two and for a car wash south of town in Kirksville. In his early years, Ben enjoyed being a 4-H parent.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being around people.

Public visitation will be began after 4:00 p.m. Sunday (October 27, 2013) with family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday (October 28, 2013) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor James Maxey officiating. Interment will follow the service at Sloan’s Point Cemetery, south of Novinger, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ben Holliday Memorial Fund. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
