Marvin Layne Seward

Marvin Layne Seward, 56, of Wildwood, Missouri, finished his walk of life on October 20, 2013, when he went peacefully to be with his Lord.

He was born on September 11, 1957 in Kirksville, Missouri, to Charles F. Seward and Wilda L. (Daniel) Seward. He was married to Eileen M. Houlahan on April 4, 1987. Bridget Morgan Seward, his cherished daughter, was born to this union. He is survived by his parents, Eileen and Bridget Seward, a sister, Joy L. Wilson and husband Lance Wilson and their son, Duncan.

Marvin received his high school education at Ashland High School in Ashland, Missouri, with the Class of 1976. He began his 28 year career in cable television as a technician in Columbia, MO for Group W. Cable where he was selected technician of the year in 1985. He later moved to Chicago, IL to work for American Cable. While working there he was honored by being selected the best technician in the greater Chicago area. In 1988 he took a job as manager of Cass Cable Company near Springfield, IL. In 2002 he was hired by the Columbia Power and Water Company in Columbia, TN to oversee the building of a broadband division for them. After getting that system up and running he took a job with New Wave Communications. He was district manager in the southern area of Missouri, Illinois and Kentucky. In 2006 he had to resign his position due to failing health. It was one of his saddest days because he loved his work. Marvin was well known and respected by his fellow cable employees through out the Midwest.

I'm so deeply saddened to hear of Marvin's passing. My heartfelt condolences, love, and prayers go to the family at this incredibly sad time. I have many fond memories of Marvin, his love of cars, his STP outfit, his love of music, being a rebel and just an all around character. I can still hear his laughter and him saying, 'it's all copasetic'.

My good friend and Mentor. Rest now, in the arms of the Lord... peace finally. I pray:

The Lord bless thee, and keep thee:

The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:

The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
