Carl Dean Humphrey, 60, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday (January 22, 2013) at his home.

The son of Henry “Keith” and Thelma Fern (Ryan) Humphrey, he was born March 22, 1952 in Queen City, Missouri. On June 19, 1971, Carl was united in marriage to Kathy Humes and to this union one son was born. On December 31, 1990, Carl married Melinda Deacon and to this union one daughter was born.

Carl is survived by his parents, Keith and Thelma Humphrey of Kirksville, MO; one son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Natalie Humphrey of Kahoka, MO; one daughter and son-in-law, Lindsey and John Tuck of Kirksville, MO; three brothers, Dennis Humphrey of Downing, MO, Robert Humphrey of Ft. Madison, IA and Jerry Humphrey and wife Crystal of Cedar Rapids, IA; one sister, Virginia Bulechek and husband Ronald of Queen City, MO; six grandchildren, Asa and Corrigan Humphrey, and Gage, Kenna, Mason and Skyler Tuck, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clarence and Clara Humphrey and Ira and Bertha Ryan, and several aunts and uncles.

Carl was a graduate from Lancaster High School with the Class of 1970. He was employed with Wiss & Wiss Allis Chalmers Implement Co, and later for John Deere Implement Company. Carl was then employed in construction a number of years in the Milan area. He was last employed driving trucks for Fountain Trucking Company in Kirksville.

Carl enjoyed hunting and loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday (January 26, 2013) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Sonny Smyser officiating. Interment will follow the service at the Willmathsville Cemetery in Willmathsville.

Family will receive friends on Saturday (January 25, 2013) for one hour before the service in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Dennis Humphrey, Robert Humphrey, Jerry Humphrey, Ronnie Bulechek, Ron Bulechek Jr. and John Tuck.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Carl Humphrey Memorial Fund (C% of the education of his grandchildren). Memorials may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
