Charles Lawrence “Larry” Beyer, 71, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Wednesday (August 29, 2012) at Milan Health Care Center.

The son of Charles Junior and Iris Irene (Pearce) Beyer, he was born June 27, 1941 in Clay County, Kansas. On January 25, 2008 in Kirksville, Missouri, Larry was united in marriage to Jeannie Marie Corrick.

Larry is survived by his wife Jeannie; one son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Deanna Beyer of Lenexa, KS; one daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Brad Smith of Kirksville, MO; two step-sons, Kurt Shouse of IL and Kevin Shouse and wife Mechelle of MN; three grandchildren, Taylor Smith of Kirksville, MO, and Jake and Katie Beyer of Lenexa, KS, as well as three step grandchildren, Jade, Sarah and Courtney Shouse.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Danny Beyer.

Larry graduated from high school in Clifton, Kansas. He resided in Olathe, Kansas where he owned and operated a mechanic shop until moving to Alaska in 1984. In 2003, Larry moved to Kirksville, Missouri, to make his home. While residing in Kansas and Alaska, he enjoyed flying planes.

Larry enjoyed restoring Chevy trucks and Winchester guns and also loved working on his black truck, keeping it in good running condition.

It was Larry’s wish to be cremated and a memorial service will be held 6:00 p.m. Sunday (September 2, 2012) in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Ralph Wheeler presiding.
