Micheal James Adkins, 22, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday (May 20, 2012) near Yarrow, Missouri.

Born June 16, 1989 in Kirksville, Missouri, Micheal was the son of Randy Lee and Cindee Sue (Cannon) Adkins.

Micheal is survived by his father, Randy Adkins of Kirksville, MO; his mother, Cindee Adkins and fiancé, Darrell Green both of LaPlata, MO; his grandparents, Bill and JoAnn Cannon of Novinger, MO; three brothers, Chris Skym, Charles SkMicheal James Adkins, 22, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday (May 20, 2012) near Yarrow, Missouri, at his favorite fishing hole.

Born June 16, 1989 in Kirksville, Missouri, Micheal was the son of Randy Lee and Cindee Sue (Cannon) Adkins. Micheal was a graduate from Kirksville High School with the Class of 2007 and attended Moberly Area Community College.

Micheal always had a smile on his face. There never was a stranger to Micheal, he loved talking and visiting with everyone he met. Micheal was always willing to help others and “give the shirt off his back” to anyone that needed it. He will be remembered by all as being ornery and fun-loving.

Micheal loved being with his family and friends; along with spending time with Jessie. Micheal enjoyed the outdoors including hunting, fishing, and arrowhead hunting. Micheal was proud of the numerous hunting awards he won. Most of all, Micheal was proudest of his little brother, Derek, his prize possession, Champ, and his heritage, Micheal from Nind.

Micheal has a strong faith in God. He was baptized in a creek in Southern Missouri in July 2009. Micheal attended Christ’s Family Church in Kirksville.

Micheal is survived by his father, Randy Adkins of Nind, MO; his mother, Cindee Adkins and fiancé Darrell Green both of LaPlata, MO; his grandparents, Bill and JoAnn Cannon of Novinger, MO; three brothers, Chris Skym, Charles Skym and Derek Adkins who was Micheal’s best friend, all of Kirksville, MO; one sister, Elizabeth Skym of Kirksville, MO; his soul mate, Jessie Stewart of Lancaster, MO; one uncle, Edward Cannon of Novinger, MO; four aunts, Melody Young and husband DowRell of Chubbuck, ID, Martha Becker and husband Jeff of Kirksville, MO, Billee Howard of Greentop, MO and Charla Winbern of Milan, MO; one nephew, William Skym; three nieces, Alexandria Skym, Abbi Skym, and Angel Skym and several cousins. Additionally to being survived by his family, he was survived by two boys that he mentored and cherished, Jesse Lee Crooks and Tucker Beautte.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Leora Payton and his cousin, Michael James Packham.

A closed casket visitation will be held Saturday (May 26, 2012) with family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday (May 27, 2012) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Jeff Becker presiding. Interment will follow the service at Oak Grove Cemetery in Milan, Missouri.

Pallbearers will be Chris Skym, Charles Skym, Drake Morris, Nathan Lawson, Ty Moran and Curtis Dierling. Honorary bearers will be Darrell Green, Jeff Barnes, Billy Packham, Jimmy Dale Packham, Josh Williams, Ross Chambers, Gary Chambers, and Chad Weigert.
