Sharon Kay (Banning) Salsberry, 61, of Novinger, Missouri, passed away Monday (December 31, 2012) at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

The daughter of Virgil Eugene and Dorothy Maxine (Baird) Banning, she was born January 14, 1951 in Quincy, Illinois. On March 8, 1969 in Novinger, Missouri, Sharon was united in marriage to Vernon Leon Salsberry.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Vernon of forty-thee years; one son and daughter-in-law, Tracy and Miranda Salsberry of Novinger, MO; one daughter, Kelli Tate and special friend, Jerry Flynn both of Greentop, MO; one brother and sister-in-law, Terry George and Debbie Sandman of Kansas City, MO; two sisters, Carol Salsberry of Novinger, MO and Pam Western of Kirksville, MO; one grandson, Cody Tyler Tate of Greentop, MO and three step-grandchildren, Cymber Hope, Cieren Fate and Cienna Rayn Eads.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Sharon resided most of her life in Novinger and received her education in the Novinger public schools. She was employed with Ortech twenty-one years until retiring to years ago due to ill health.

Sharon enjoyed playing cards, fishing, Bingo, gambling, playing pool, dancing, camping, and was an avid Cub fan.

Sharon loved time spent with family, her dog Beiner, and her grandson Cody who was the love of her life.

She was a member of the Novinger Baptist Church.

Public visitation will be held Thursday (January 3, 2013) from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday (January 4, 2013) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Jeff Dodson presiding. Interment will follow the service at Novinger Cemetery in Novinger.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Cuculich, Cody Tate, Marty Martin, Frankie Salsberry, Bob Withrow and Timmy Parrish.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Sharon Salsberry Memorial Fund. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
