Mark James DeShazer, 38, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Tuesday (December 18, 2012) at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

The son of James Paul and Frances Arlene (Hack) DeShazer, he was born September 1, 1974 in Pensacola, Florida.

Mark is survived by his father, James DeShazer of Bevier, MO; his mother, Arlene Burns and step-father, Rick of St. Charles, MO; grandfather, Bill DeShazer of Macon, MO; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph Daniel and Michelle Gibbs of St. Louis, MO and Christopher Allen and Erin Gibbs of St. Charles, MO and two nieces, Ava and Lily Gibbs.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ralph and Doris Hack and Pauline DeShazer.

Mark was a graduate from Kirksville High School with the Class of 1995. Mark loved music by Travis Tritt and Garth Brooks and was an avid Cardinal fan.

Marks most perfect day would be visits from family, going out to eat, especially Kentucky Fried Chicken, watching TV, videos, sleeping until he wanted to get up, and just having fun with no demands and being in charge.

Mark was loved by his family, his group home family and friends.

Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday (December 21, 2012) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Richard Northcutt officiating. Interment will follow the service at the Kendall Cemetery in Shelbina, Missouri.

Family will receive friends on Friday (December 21, 2012) for one hour before the service in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Gibbs, Christopher Gibbs, Robert Magruder, Joseph Magruder, Bob Magruder, Eric Hack and Andrew Hack.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mark DeShazer may be made to Chariton Valley Association. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
