Mary Lee (Perkins) Hamilton, 80, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Tuesday (November 20, 2012) at her home under Hospice care.

The daughter of Maurice Lester and Virginia Ruth (Lile) Perkins, she was born April 16, 1932 in Kirksville, Missouri. On September 14, 1957 in Pascagoula, MS, Mary was united in marriage to William Marion “Bill” Hamilton who preceded her in death on July 10, 2006.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Mary is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Steven and Toni Hamilton of Kirksville, MO, Mike and Shari Hamilton of Columbia, MO, and Brian and Monali Hamilton of Iowa City, IA; one brother, Donald Perkins of Kirksville, MO, as well as three grandchildren, Scott, Amanda and Matthew Hamilton.

Mary was a graduate from Kirksville High School with the Class of 1950. In the 50’s, Mary worked at Laughlin Hospital. She spent her years raising her sons and took great pride in her grandchildren.

Mary enjoyed ceramics, crafts, quilting, needlepoint and making Christmas ornaments. She also loved her cats.

Mary’s wish was to be cremated and her family will receive friends Sunday (November 25, 2012) from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.
