Gilbert M. “Gib” Sizemore, 79, of Green Castle, Missouri, passed away Tuesday (January 17, 2012) at Twin Pines Adult Care Center in Kirksville.

The son of Bina and Hadie (Stoneking) Sizemore, he was born March 18, 1932 in Stahl, Missouri. Gib was married to Patricia Butler of Green Castle, Missouri, who survives.

Gib is also survived by one son, Gilbert Junior Sizemore of Texas; one brother, Jack Sizemore of Novinger, MO and two sisters, Frances Garrett of California and Olive Solomon of Queen City, MO; four grandchildren, Gilbert J. “G.J.” Sizemore and wife Sherry of Novinger, MO, Christopher Sizemore and wife Lenae of Washington; John Sizemore and wife Carolyn of Washington, and Mark Sizemore of Texas; eight great-grandchildren, Nikki Sizemore of Novinger, MO, David Sizemore of Kirksville, MO, Shaylee Anderson of Kansas, Madison and McKayla Sizemore of Kirksville, MO, Cadence Sizemore of Washington and John Jr. and Isaiah of Washington.

Gib was born and raised in Stahl, Missouri. He had worked at farming, construction and at a sawmill over the years.

Gib enjoyed horses, coon hunting, being with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, friends and neighbors.

No public visitation will be held.

Graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday (January 21, 2012) at Morelock Cemetery, near Stahl, Missouri, with Pastor Alan Coonfield officiating.
