Harold Wayne Peterson, 60, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Monday (September 5, 2011) at Twin Pines Adult Care Center in Kirksville.

The son of Kenneth Wayne and Reta Ellen (Rhoads) Peterson, he was born May 25, 1951 in Kirksville, Missouri. On June 29, 1974 in Kirksville, Harold was united in marriage to Catherine Jean Lowe who preceded him in death on March 29, 2008.

His father, maternal and paternal grandparents preceded Harold in death.

Harold is survived by his mother, Reta Peterson of Kirksville, MO; two sons, Justin Peterson and Jason Peterson both of Kirksville, MO; one brother, Kendall Ray Peterson and wife Janice of LaPlata, MO; one sister, Celesta Boltz and husband Everett of Kirksville, MO and two grandchildren, Grant and Zachary.

Harold was a life long resident of Kirksville, graduating from Kirksville High School. He was employed sixteen years at Florsheim Shoe Factory, later drove a cab five years and was last employed six years at Pancake City in Kirksville.

Harold enjoyed watching TV and spent many hours traveling up and down the roads of Kirksville.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday (September 8, 2011) at Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville, with Reverend Charles Jackson presiding. Family will receive friends one hour before the graveside service in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Ledford, Teddy Maggart, Daniel Anderson, Kevin Yowell, Timmy Rogers and Byran Ferrell.
