Robert Paul Pattermann, 77, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Monday (September 19, 2011) at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.

The son of Paul Charles and Florence Marie (Sittler) Pattermann, he was born December 19, 1933 in Naperville, Illinois. On June 20, 1959 in Ramsey, Illinois, Robert was united in marriage to Mary Ann Miller.

Robert is survived by his wife Mary Ann of fifty-two years; three children, Daniel and wife Jamie (Hamilton) Pattermann of Kirksville, MO and their two daughters (Kindall and Jaidan); Joseph and wife Janet (Higgins) Pattermann of Kirksville, MO and daughter, Susan Pattermann, of Maryland Heights, MO. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Kay Heim and Dick Shewczyk of Naperville, IL.

His parents and one sister, Bettyjean Struchil preceded Robert in death.

Robert attended Naperville, Illinois schools. In 1953 he enlisted in the United States Army serving two years.

Robert was a bricklayer for many years and then went into construction, raised cattle, loved his horses, western movies and western clothing and his trademark Stetson.

He was a member of the St. Rose Catholic Church in Novinger, Missouri, involved in church work and a member of Young at Heart and Ministry of Care for St. Rose and Mary Immaculate churches.

Public visitation will be held Thursday (September 22, 2011) from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with a prayer service held at 7:00 p.m.

Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday (September 23, 2011) at St. Rose Catholic Church in Novinger, with Father Chris Cordes presiding. Interment will follow the service at Mary Immaculate Catholic Cemetery in Kirksville.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Robert may be made to the American Heart Association. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
