Clyde Anthony Patterson, 65, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Thursday (July 28, 2011) at his home under Hospice care.

The son of George Washington and Opal Mae (Danielson) Patterson, he was born October 27, 1945 in Kirksville, Missouri.

Clyde is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Frank Gavlek of Kirksville, MO; three sisters, Jean Ruggles of Marceline, MO, Donna Warden of Brookfield, MO and Shirley McFarland of Novinger, MO; two grandchildren, Travis and Megan Watkins of Brookfield, MO and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jody Patterson; one brother, Johnny Patterson; one sister, Leora Payton; one nephew, Dale Mills and his ex-wife, Diane.

Clyde was a graduate from Brookfield High School. He later resided in Novinger until moving to Kirksville to make his home. For the last year he resided with Don and Tara Dickerson and niece Judy Mills. Clyde was employed seventeen years for Sodexo Food Service at Truman State University in Kirksville.

He enjoyed playing cards, dancing, watching western movies, playing pool and joking around with family and friends.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday (August 2, 2011) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with family receiving friends from noon until service time. Chaplain Carol Davenport will officiate the service. Interment will follow the service at Forest Llewellyn Cemetery in Kirksville.

Pallbearers will be Angie Gavlek, Jerry Ault, Don Derickson, Bobby Derickson, Bobby Ault and Chris Winn. Travis Watkins will be an honorary pallbearer.
