Frank Arthur Reesman, 84, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday (December 14, 2011) at his home.

The son of Lane Spangler and Bessie Mae (Barnhart) Reesman, he was born October 11, 1927 in Kirksville, Missouri. On July 24, 1949 in Kirksville, Missouri, Frank was united in marriage to Barbara Jolene McClanahan.

Frank is survived by his wife Jolene of sixty-two years; one son, Jerry Dale Reesman of Kirksville, MO; four grandchildren Traci Clark and husband Jake, Kristi Brewer and husband Chris, Nikki Shafer and husband Slade and Erica Speiser and husband Dylan; four great-grandchildren, Grant Ruby, Calvin and Carson Brewer and Rylan Speiser, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Eileen Davidson.

Frank received his education in the Bullion country school and Kirksville public schools. From September 20, 1946 to January 21, 1948, Frank served in the United States Army. After being honorably discharged, Frank returned home and helped his father in the family dairy business known as Reesman Dairy Farms. Frank later took over the family business and also started his own business Reesman Food Equipment Service that he was operating at the time of his death.

Frank had a zest for life, loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, taking care of his grand dogs and barn cats, playing dominos and he was a fanatic about taking care of his yard; spending time everyday picking up sticks everywhere he went.

He was a member of Loyal Order of the Moose #1751, V.F.W. American Legion where he served as chaplain and secretary, served on the Stukey Cemetery Board and was a member of the Tri-County Board from 1971 to 2008. Frank was also a member of the World Wide Church of God PKG.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday (December 18, 2011) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Reverend Sam Qualls officiating.

Family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. service time on Sunday (December 18, 2011) in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Jack Clark, Slade Shafer, Chris Brewer, Marty Davidson, Art Davidson and Norman Davidson.

Interment with military honors will follow the service at Maple Hills Cemetery in Kirksville.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Frank Reesman may be made to the Stukey Cemetery. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.

Jerry & Family my condolences to you. The genuine friendliness from talking with Frank over the years has truly been a blessing. He was a man that could bring the sincerity of his heart with his voice & his constant laughter was always something that made me smile.
