Regis Francis Wehner, 87, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Thursday (October 6, 2011) at Twin Pines Adult Care Center in Kirksville.

The son of Albert and Kathryn (Donovan) Wehner, he was born November 13, 1923 in Pittsburgh, PA. He was united in marriage to Regina Clare Weertz who preceded him in death on November 23, 1998.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; one son, Lawrence Wehner; two sisters and two brothers.

Regis is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey and Christine Wehner of Chapel Hill, N.C. and Glenn and Vicky Wehner of Kirksville, MO; one sister, Mary Murphy of Gibsonia, PA; four grandchildren, Adam Wehner and wife Christine, Brianne Iadanza and husband Clint, Kyle Wehner and wife Monica and Logan Wehner as well as four great-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren.

Mr. Wehner resided in Pittsburg, PA, most of his life where he graduated from high school and attended the University of Pittsburgh. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII in the Philippines. After being honorably discharged Regis returned home. Regis was last employed as a park manager for a county park in Pennsylvania. He moved to the Kirksville area to make his home near his son about six week ago.

Regis has been cremated and will return to Pennsylvania to be interred at a later date.
