Donald "Dean" West, 74, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Friday, October 28, 2022 at Kirksville Manor Care Center after a short illness.

Born January 8, 1948 in Livonia, Missouri, Dean was the son of Glen M. and Alice Lucille (Chrisman) West. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Karen Morris, three brothers, Daniel "Dow" West, Leon West, Christopher West; two nephews, Kevin Wood and Nathan Dunlap, and one niece, Jennifer (West) Miller.

Dean is survived by the love of his life, Sharon Foster who has lived with him for twenty-three years. They were childhood sweethearts who started dating at age sixteen. The found each other again and have been together ever since. He is also survived by three daughters, Sharon LaCore of Kirksville, MO, Belinda Reidmiller of Bryan, TX, and DeAnna Kelsall of Ashland, MO; Also Sharon Foster's children: Michael Foster, Mendy Haines, Rodney Foster, and Elizabeth Welch; Also Dean was survived by three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Noah (Diane) West of Toledo, OH, Leland (Tamara) West of Lake Park, FL, and Ed West of Kirksville, MO; nine sisters and seven brothers-in-law, Carolyn (James) Bragg of Novinger, MO, Marilyn McVay of Kirksville, MO, Glenda (Marvin) Flynn Kirksville, MO, Linda (Wesley) Alertsen of Malcom, IA, Sandra (Marvin) Capps of Davenport, IA, Joan (Gary) Stichter of Davenport, IA, Joyce (Mikel) Mason of Brashear, MO, Doris (Curtis) Vonsoosten of Temple, TX, and Sheila West of Kirksville, MO; fourteen grandchildren, Corey and Kyle Casey, Carson Redmon, Kros Fetters, Cole and Olivia Kelsall, Jonathan Foster, Shelbi Cline, Bailey Foster, Katey and Maddie Haines, and Brooke, Jordan, and Riley Welch; eight great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Dean was employed several years at (CableOne) before opening his own reality business (Show Me Reality) which he was successful at for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, loved all of nature, and being outdoors. Dean was always ready for a conversation for he never met a stranger. He also loved time spent with his family and friends and will be remembered for always willing to help others and inspiring them to be more independent.

Dean was a member of the Masonic Lodge, El Kadir Shrine Club and the Kirksville Moose Lodge #1751.

It was Dean's wish to be cremated and a Celebration of Life / Memorial will take place Saturday, November 5, 2022 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at El Kadir Shrine Club in Kirksville.
