Wendell Dean Lloyd, 85, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at The Pines in Kirksville.

Born June 4, 1934 in Sidney, Missouri, Wendell was the son of the late John Sam and Martha Elizabeth (Ruggles) Lloyd. On July 25, 1953 in Kirksville, Missouri, Wendell was united in marriage to Nora Bernice Clay.

Wendell is survived by his wife Bernice of sixty-five years; one son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Shirlene Lloyd of Greentop, MO; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Ruth Ann and Gary Newsom of Kirksville, MO, Patricia Lee of Greentop, MO, and Julia and J.C. Couch of Lebanon, MO; daughter-in-law, Julie Lloyd of Kirksville, MO; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Wendell was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Roger Lloyd in 2005; three brothers, Lawson, Elvin, and Wayne Lloyd; three sisters, Nola True, Wanita Sanders, and Geneva Crooks; his granddaughter, Katriona Lloyd, and son-in-law, Dennis Lee.

Wendell received his education in the Clark and Lefford rural schools. He was employed at McGraw-Edison, Donaldson's, and last for Standard Register where he was employed until retiring in 1996. He was also a long time farmer, who loved raising cattle and haying. Wendell enjoyed tinkering and fixing things and gardening. He also loved traveling and once owned a motorcycle that he and Bernice traveled many miles on and toured many states.

Wendell enjoyed camping, loved time spent with his family and told the best stories.

He was a member of the Northeast Missouri Motorcycle Touring Club and member of Central Church of Christ of Kirksville.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Darrell Crooks officiating. Interment will follow the service at East Center Cemetery, east of Kirksville.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, from noon to 2:00 p.m. service time in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Michael Lloyd, Matthew Lloyd, John Lee, Owen Miller, Tim Attebery, and Marcus Cihal.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Wendell may be made to East Center Cemetery or to the Central Church of Christ and may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
