Michael "Dan" Todd, 68, of Kirksville, passed away Monday, October 29, 2018 at his home. A kind and gentle Christian man, he will be greatly missed.

The son of Millard and Eva Todd, he was born May 15, 1950 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. On June 6, 1970, Dan was united in marriage to Sherry Galloway.

Dan is survived by his wife Sherry of forty-eight years, two daughters, Katrina Todd of Kirksville, MO and Carrie (Kiersten) Todd of Nashville, TN, two sons, Caleb (Michael Frisch) Todd of Kansas City, MO, and Gideon (Megan) Todd of Bonner Springs, KS, one brother, Jim (Merrie) Todd of Columbia, MO, and five sisters, Patsy (Verne) Kaupp of Columbia, MO, Susie Larkin and Betty (Phil) Johnson all of Montgomery City, MO, Lori (Marty Rieser) Hollensteiner of Moscow Mills, MO, and Elizabeth (Sonny) Stevenson of Montgomery City, MO, two sisters-in-law, Karen (Jim) Pyron of Diamond, MO, and Belinda (Rick) Carpenter of Fayetteville, AR, and two brothers-in-law, Kim (Gwen) Galloway of St. Louis, MO, and Brent (Sheila) Galloway of Olathe, KS. He also leaves behind four grandchildren who were the joy of his heart, Brittney Eitel of Nashville, TN, Aiden Michael Lee Shulz of Kirksville, MO, and Forrest and Lydia Todd both of Bonner Springs, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and his father-in-law, Freal Galloway.

Dan graduated from Montgomery County RII High School with the Class of 1968. From Oct. of 1970 to May of 1972 Dan served in the United States Army. He then attended the Harding University Christian Communication Program in Searcy, Arkansas. A dedicated student of the Bible Dan preached at Church of Christ in Hope, AR, Jackson Church of Christ in Jackson, MO, Central Church of Christ in Kirksville, Parkview Church of Christ in Unionville, and at the Willmathsville Community Church as well as officiating at many weddings and funerals, as well as working eighteen years for Galloway Lumber in Kirksville.

He was well known as a hard worker and loved physical labor. Dan was also a talented guitar picker and loved singing in his high tenor.

It was Dan's wish to be cremated and his family will receive friends during a public visitation on Saturday, November 3, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville. No service will follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to his wife Sherry Todd for the education of their grandchildren and may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.

Dan was truly a person who would bring a smile to any crowd, whether a wedding or a funeral. I never saw him without a kind expression or giving a kind word to another. The world is a little grayer today, but his memory will make it bright again. Thank you Danny.
