Patricia "Joan" (Mossbarger) Hedgecock, 76, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2018 at the University Missouri Hospital in Columbia.

Born May 30, 1942 in Stahl, Missouri, Joan was the daughter of James Edward and Zerada Helen (Rogers) Mossbarger. On August 5, 1972 in Graysville, Missouri, Joan was united in marriage to Larry Hedgecock.

Joan is survived by her husband Larry of forty-six years; four sons, Randy Walker of Kirksville, MO, Jerry Hedgecock of Noblesville, IN, Bill Hedgecock of Kirksville, MO, and Tony Hedgecock of Dearing, GA; one daughter, Tammy Sharp of Kirksville, MO; one sister, Debbie Lynne Gerleve and husband Rich of Shell Knob, MO; twelve grandchildren, and seventeen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Dwain Eddie Mossbarger.

Joan was a graduate from Ottumwa High School in Ottumwa, Iowa. She worked a number of years for Bob's Market in Ottumwa. In early 2000 she and her husband Larry moved to Kirksville to make their home. She enjoyed bingo and motorcycle rides with Larry and always enjoyed her job as a cashier at Bob's Market.

Joan has been cremated and a memorial service to honor her life will be held 6:00 p.m. Monday, August 27, 2018 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville. Entombment will take place at a later date at the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO.
