Barbara Veola (Acton) Bunch, 77, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017 at her home under Hospice care.

Born February 28, 1940 in Eldora, Iowa, Barbara was the daughter of the late Buell and Veneda (Dickenson) Acton. On March 16, 1957 in Desoto, Mississippi, Barbara was united in marriage to Von Eugene Bunch who preceded her in death on June 21, 2012. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Robert Wayne and Michael D. Bunch, and one sister, Beverly Wright.

Barbara is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Lorrie Bunch of LaPorte, TX; one daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and John Shoop of Kirksville, MO; one brother, Bill Acton of Kirksville, MO; three half brothers; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In 1966, Barbara and her husband Von moved to Kirksville, Missouri, to make their home and Von began employment for Kewanne where he worked eighteen years. Von then purchased and operated the Pit Stop where Barbara worked along side of her husband a number of years.

Her hobbies included yard work, gardening, and crocheting.

It was Barbara's wish to be cremated and a memorial service to celebrate her life will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 5, 2018 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Ralph Wheeler officiating.
