Earl Millard Fast, 89, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Friday, May 15, 2026 at his home.

The son of Glen and Thelma Jewell (Marquardt) Fast, he was born July 5, 1936 in Edina, Missouri. On February 6, 1960 in Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri, Earl was united in marriage to Phyllis Jeanette Smith who preceded him in death on December 21, 1999. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Billie and Clayton Fast.

Earl is survived by his daughter Julie Fast of Kirksville, MO; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

Earl was a graduate from Brashear High School and resided most of his life in Adair County. He served his country in the United State Army and after an honorable discharge Earl returned home, and was employed forty-one years for Florsheim Shoe Factory.

Earl enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood working and camping.

He was a member of the Illinois Bend Community Church of Kirksville, member of Northeast CB Club, and was a member of the Kirksville Moose Lodge.

Public visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2026 with a funeral service following at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Terry Hunsaker and Pastor John Davison will officiate the service and interment will follow the service at Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville.
