Sidney Coy, of Brooklyn, WI, passed away Thursday April 23 at the age of 29. Beloved husband of Lauren Coy; treasured son of Jeffrey and Rhonda Coy; cherished brother of Casey Coy; dear grandson of Larry “Joe” and Carolyn McCarty and Lenora and the late Andrew Gordon Coy; adored son-in-law of Timothy and the late Therese Bower; loved brother-in-law of Erik and Elyse Bower; nephew, cousin, and friend of many.

Sidney graduated from Kirksville High School, then went on to obtain a degree in Drafting from Moberly Area Community College and then a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology where he also met his wife. After school, he moved up to Wisconsin where he worked as a Test Engineer for Oshkosh Defense and then as a Design Engineer for Kuhn North America. Sidney had many interests and hobbies that he pursued. He had a passion for working on and fixing vehicles, off-road driving, and anything that required a sense of adventure. He could often be found out in his shop on weeknights or weekends tinkering on the next project. He also enjoyed camping, backpacking, mountain biking, and spending time outdoors and would always be the one to get the camera out to capture the memories. He always wanted to explore wherever he could and would regularly go on “side quests” to ensure he saw everything he wanted, whether it be wandering a little off the trail or just stopping by a lookout point while driving. He brought an atmosphere of fun and joy to anything he was a part of and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

Public visitation will be held Friday, May 1, 2026 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home with Erick Hanson presiding. Interment will follow the service at Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville.
