Anita Marie (Atchison) Armstrong, 76, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2026 at her home.
Born March 16, 1949 in Benson, Minnesota, Anita was the daughter of the late Charles Leo and Dorothy Lorraine (Wilson) Atchison. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Joely Bachman; one grandson, Gage Bachman; one brother, Lee Atchison; four sisters, LaVina Sellman, Judith Halbe, Bonnie Burns, and Sheree Atchison; as well as her daughter-in-law, Gail Armstrong. On May 30, 1981 in Benson, MN, Anita was united in marriage to Milton Armstrong.
Anita is survived by her husband Milton of forty-four years; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Dale Armstrong of Troy, MO, and Damon and Gina Armstrong of Kirksville, MO; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Sherri and Randy Lawson of Neveda, TX, Darla and Chuck Kendrick of Tuscon, AZ, Diana and Gerald Lorance of Liberty Hill, TX, and Tonya Elizondo of Wylie, TX; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Bob and Margaret Atchison and Charles Atchison all of Monroe, WA; two sisters, Dori Atchison of Las Vegas, NV, and Laura Atchison of Kirksville, MO; twenty-one grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Anita was a graduate from Benson High School in Benson, Minnesota. Anita has resided in Kirksville, Missouri, since 1978 and she and Milton owned and operated Rosie's Northtown Cafe a total of thirty-nine years. Anita worked as the Head Chef where she loved cooking and serving the community.
Anita was a very devoted wife, mom and grandmother who loved time spent with her family.
Public visitation will be held Friday, March 20, 2026 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Travis-Noe Funeral Home with Pastor Ralph W heeler officiating. Interment will follow the service at Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville.
Memorial donations in memory of Anita may be made to Ellis Fischel Cancer Center of Columbia, and may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
