Yvonne R. (Fox) Wynn

-

Yvonne R. (Fox) Wynn, 79, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Friday, January 9, 2026 as the result of an automobile accident in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.

She was born October 8, 1946 the daughter of the late George Wayne and Alline Fox of Welch, Oklahoma. On June 12, 1964 she was married to Tom Wynn and to this marriage two children were born.

Yvonne is survived by her children, Jeff (Kim) Wynn, and Terri Wynn, both of Kirksville, MO; five grandchildren, Brody, Tanner and Ashtyn Mathes, Kory (Mary Beth) Turner and Carlee (Nick) Bosler; great-grandchildren, Daisy Sue and Violet Fox Turner who were the light of her life, as well as two great-grandsons, Maverick and Harrison. She is also survived by her brother, Harry (Shirley) Swalley; sisters, Patsy Neal and Janice (Danny) Osburn all of northeast Oklahoma; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, nephews, and cousins. She will be missed greatly by them all and also by special friends Barry and Dixie Baiotto. She loved Dixie like as sister and was so happy when her son married Dixie's daughter and both families blended together seamlessly.

Years ago when Yvonne moved to Kirksville, she worked at the Florsheim Shoe Factory in the office as a payroll clerk for several years. She moved back to Oklahoma and worked at the Grove Hospital in the ER. She retired from the hospital after 20 plus years and then moved back to Kirksville to be closer to her kids and grandkids. She worked at the Sprocket Technologies in Kirksville until the time of her death. Her Sprocket coworkers considered her their work mom/

Yvonne was born and raised in Oklahoma and even though she lived away several years, she missed living there every day. She was very proud of her Indian heritage, so when it was time for her to go home, it was fitting she was in Oklahoma, on Indian land. She was in Oklahoma to get her great-granddaughters signed up on the Cherokee tribal roll.

Yvonne was an animal lover her whole life. She almost always had a Pekingese to play with as her children were growing up. The last several years she especially enjoyed spoiling her grand dogs Bella, Shiloh, Livi, Katie, Kenna, Grace, and Chief. She also had a special bond with the Sprocket office dog, Nala. She was never too busy to take "the kids" for a bye-bye ride or grill them a hot dog. She always made sure Nala had her nails trimmed and painted.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 14, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Yvonne may be made to the family for the education of Yvonne's great-grandchildren, and may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
