Peggy Jean (Osborn) Starbuck, 98, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2026 at The Pines in Kirksville.
Born July 15, 1927 in Brickman, Oklahoma, Peggy was the daughter of the late Henry and Ethel (Summers) Osborn. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Judy Renee Pope; and step-daughter, Sharon Starbuck. On May 17, 1989, Peggy was united in marriage to Floyd "John" Starbuck.
Peggy is survived by her husband John Starbuck of forty-one years; three step daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Les McLaughlin and Brenda and Randy Miller all of Ottumwa, IA, and Carol McKinnon of Kirksville, MO; as well as a total of 24 step grandchildren/great-grandchildren.
Peggy graduated from high school in Brinkman, Oklahoma. She moved to Kirksville, Missouri, in 1950 to make her home and was employed a number of years for Hollister, Inc. until her retirement.
Peggy enjoyed the sport of bowling with her husband John for a number of years, going to the boat, was a good cook, and enjoyed ironing for people.
Public visitation will be held from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2026 in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville. Interment will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at the Missouri State Veteran's Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO with Pastor Ralph Wheeler presiding. Services will be under the direction of Travis-Noe Funeral Home of Kirksville.
