Domenico "Joe" Amidei, 81, of Novinger, Missouri, passed away Monday, January 12, 2026 at his home.

Born January 17, 1944 in Kirksville, Missouri, Joe was the son of the late Domenic and Mary (Brugioni) Amidei. On October 13, 1962 in Novinger, Missouri, Joe was united in marriage to Phyllis Marie Hoskins.

Joe is survived by his wife Phyllis of sixty-three years; one son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Dana Amidei of Novinger, MO; three daughters and sons-in-law, Martha and Ivan Cole of Brashear, MO, Jona and Johnny Gunnels of Green Castle, MO, and Christi and Troy Smith of Novinger, MO; eleven grandchildren, Chase Cole, Kyle Gunnels, Allison Amidei, ChaRae Wagner, Danelle Cowherd, Travis Gunnels, Dalyn Amidei, Blake Smith, Maria Klingsmih, Kail Smith, and Caden Smith; as well as twenty-two great-grandchildren.

Joe was a graduate of Novinger High School. Joe was a pipe fitter/plumber with a membership of the Pipe Fitters Union #562 for fifty-five years. He also raised cattle and swine.

He was a member of the Kirksville Moose Lodge #1751.

A Catholic Prayer Service will be held 5:30 p.m. Thursday, January 15, 2026 with public visitation following from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 16, 2026 at St. Rose Catholic Church in Novinger, Missouri, with Deacon Dave Ream and Father Joseph Luzindana presiding. Interment will follow the service at Novinger Cemetery in Novinger, Missouri.
