Verna Mae (Ward) Drennan, 84, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Monday, July 7, 2025 at River City Living Community in Jefferson City, Missouri.

The daughter of the late Omer Paul and Grace Irene (Samms) Ward, she was born April 7, 1941 in Kirksville, MO. On June 6, 1969 in Kirksville, Missouri, Verna was united in marriage to William Keith "Bill" Drennan Jr. who preceded her in death on October 22, 2020. She was also preceded in death by her siblings Bernice Ward, Wayne Ward, Merle Ward, Clara Strickler, Norman Ward, Irene Carter, and W.H. Ward.

Verna is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Candy Sue and Jered Morris; grandchildren, Laura Grace (Coby) Gibson, Emelee Christine Morris, Elizabeth Rose Morris, and Jasper Virgil Morris; as well as great-grandchildren, Kenzley Rene Gibson, and Braxton Eugene Gibson.

Verna was a graduate from Kirksville Bible School . Verna was a career minded business woman all of her life. She was a property manager in Columbia for Ashland Manor Apartments and Rock Bridge Meadows. She also worked as a sales consultant for Dillard's.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2025 with family receiving friends from 1:00 p.m. to service time in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville. Pastor Ralph Wheeler and Pastor Rodney Davis will officiate the service and interment will follow at Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville.

Pallbearers will be Austin Ward, Coby Gibson, Billy Wernert, Mike Holt, Bryan Ward, and Lonnie Ward.
