James Keith VanSickel, 77, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Friday, June 20, 2025 at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.
Born July 14, 1947 in Kirksville, Missouri, Jim was the son of the late Harold David and Margaret Louise (Sparks) VanSickel. He was also preceded in death by two step-sons, Roger and Gary Shrouf. Jim was united in marriage to Wanda Fay Vice in Kirksville.
Jim is survived by his wife, Wanda "Fay" of Kirksville, MO; one son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Carrie VanSickel of Kirksville, MO; one daughter, Darcia VanSickel of Novinger, MO; three brothers, Steven VanSickel of Phoenix, AZ, Dennis VanSickel of Kirksville, MO and Larry VanSickel of Phoenix, AZ; three grandchildren, Sierra, Shelby, and Anslee VanSickel; four great-grandchildren; as well as one nephew, Brant VanSickel and one niece, Mindy VanSickel both of Kirksville, MO.
Jim was a life long resident and graduate from Kirksville High School. He was a devoted life member of the Kirksville Moose Lodge #1751 of Kirksville. Throughout his years of membership, he was actively involved in the Moose Legion, and served multiple years as Lodge Governor. He earned both the Fellowship Degree, and the prestigious Pilgrim Degree, recognizing his outstanding service. Jim also sponsored 201 members during his time with the lodge. He retired as Lodge 1751 Administrator in April 2019, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and leadership. Jim was also a past member of TPA and of the Fellowship Baptist Church.
Public visitation will be held Tuesday, June 24, 2025 from noon to service time at 2:00 p.m. at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville. At 2:00 p.m. a Moose Ritual will be held with a funeral service to follow in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home. Pastor Larry Gibson will officiate the service and cremation will follow the service. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Maple Hills Cemetery in Kirksville.
