Linda Carol (Millsap) Shada, age 82, of Kirksville, Missouri passed away on Monday, May 5, 2025.
The daughter of John Martin and Ida Wanita Van Volkenberg Millsap, she was born on November 26, 1942 in East Saint Louis, Illinois. On June 29, 1963, Linda was united in marriage to Duane Darell Shada in Fontana, California and three daughters were born to this union. He preceded her in death on July 28, 2009.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Gary Millsap of Crescent City, California, and one great-granddaughter, Brittney Marie. She is survived by daughters Debra (Geoff) Myer of Raytown, Missouri, Laura (Tony) Henness of La Plata, Missouri and Shelly (Chris) Ebanks of Grand Cayman Islands; seven grandchildren, Jessica (Bobby) Bailey of Grain Valley, Missouri, Jason (Jody) Fowler of Independence, Missouri, Sean (Jenna) Casey of Wentzville, Missouri, Taylor Henness of Kirksville, Missouri, Alexandria (Danny) Dabney of Kirksville, Missouri, Eric Dabney of Kansas City, Missouri, and Madison Newland, also of Kansas City, Missouri; seven great-grandchildren, Isabelle Bailey, Cooper Bailey, Austin Fowler, Luna Casey, Maia Stewart, Leon Neuhauser and Adrien Henricks; one brother, John R. Millsap of Kansas City, Missouri. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life.
Linda graduated from East Saint Louis Senior High School in June 1960, moving to Fontana, California the day after graduation. She attended L.I.F.E. Bible College in Los Angeles, California and worked for several years at Bank of America in Los Angeles and Bloomington, California prior to the birth of her children. The family moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida until 1972 when they moved to La Plata, Missouri. After moving to Kirksville, Missouri in 1978, she worked at Truman State University for 20 years and Northeast Missouri State Hospital for 22 years before her retirement.
Linda was an active member of First Assembly of God Church in Kirksville, Missouri for many years. It was Linda’s wish to be cremated and a memorial service to be held at First Assembly of God Church at 1:00 PM on May 31, 2025. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at First Assembly of God Church, 2401 South High Street, Kirkville, Missouri.
