Pamela Jean Tarr, 75, of Greentop, Missouri, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, May 2, 2025.

Born on June 9, 1949, in Kirksville, Missouri, Pam was the daughter of Glen Darrel and Lovetta Faye (Ellsworth) Sallade. She graduated with the Kirksville High School Class of 1967. On February 18, 1968, she married the love of her life, Rusty Tarr, in Kirksville. The two shared 57 devoted years of marriage.

Pam is survived by her husband, Rusty Tarr of Greentop MO her mother, Faye Sallade of Kirksville MO one son and daughter-in-law, Shawn and Kristal Tarr of Kirksville MO her daughter-in-law, Lisa Tarr of Greentop, MO; one sister and brother-in-law, Tracy and Mark Robinson of Platte City, MO and three cherished grandsons, Sawyer Tarr of Kansas City MO, Hunter Tarr of Ramstein Germany and Hayden Tarr, of Wentzville MO. She is also fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Glen Sallade; her son, Sam Tarr (September 4, 2020); and her brother-in-law, Ronnie Tarr.

Over the years, Pam worked in a variety of roles, including a telephone operator, owned and operated grocery The Store Greentop, tax collector Greentop grocery retail Safeway/Food Barn/Aldi’s Kirksville, and most recently for the Adair County Assessor’s Office, where she served until her retirement. She found joy in spending time with family, sewing, American flag, collecting coins and nurturing her love of flowers.

Pam was a member of Greentop United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She was a woman of quiet strength, steadfast faith and had a deep love for her family.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Lynae McFarland officiating. Visitation will begin at noon, prior to the service. Pam will be laid to rest at Greentop Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Shawn Tarr, Sawyer Tarr, Hayden and Hunter Tarr. Honorary pallbearer will be her son Sam Tarr.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Schuyler County Cancer Fund or the Greentop Cemetery. Donations may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
