Joan Marie (Patterson) Beeson, 63, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away on February 3, 2025, at her home.

She was born on April 22, 1961, in Kirksville, the daughter of Billy Patterson and Jean Ann Taylor. Joan was united in marriage to Ronald Beeson for 8 years. She is preceded in death by her father, Billy Patterson; her daughter, Shawna Marie Patterson; her sister, Joyce Sizemore; her maternal and paternal grandparents; and the father of her three children, Roger Stewart.

Joan is survived by her mother, Jean Ann Taylor; two brothers, Billy Joe Patterson and Andrew (Bud) Patterson; two sisters, Julie Veach and Debra McKim; two stepbrothers, Scott Wallis and Bob Wallis; one stepsister, Rebecca Williams; two sons, Jacob Stewart and Damien Patterson; one daughter, Christina Mullen; two stepsons, Aaron Campbell and Adam Lewis; four granddaughters, Hailey Williams, Autumn Townsend, Allison Williams, and Arianna Williams; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Joan was a lifelong resident of Kirksville, Missouri, where she was known for her love of crafting, drawing, and her ability to connect with those around her. An “almost professional” when it came to doing her makeup in her younger years, Joan passed down her skills to her daughter and granddaughters. Despite the mental health struggles she faced throughout her life, Joan remained a constant support for her children and was loved by many in her community.

She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

A celebration of Joan’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements were taken care of by Travis-Noe Funeral Home of Kirksville.
